This is my first blog post for my new website anneboothauthor.com and I am delighted that you have popped in to have a look! Here you will find news about my latest books and projects, and information about what I have written and maybe some hints about what I am working on and hope to write. I will be adding new features in the coming weeks, and am hoping to offer mentoring services too in the future.

It’s a beautiful Spring day today, with one of those gorgeous blue skies full of white clouds which lifts the heart, and my husband and I have already been for a dog walk, where I tried to capture, in a few seconds, the shapes of our dog as he ran after a ball and sniffed around a green field, lit up by the low winter light and full of interesting shadows. I am in my second term at Cambridge College of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, doing a part-time MA in Children’s Book Illustration, and I have an illustration project to finish by April, so the rest of the day I will be trying to make some sense of the quick scribbles I did this morning and buying some ink for my etching press – my exciting new investment which I need to try out for the first time ever today!  I also have various books for both children and adults to work on in coming weeks – some in draft stages, some at the researching stage. My next picture book will come out in June, and the paperback of ‘Sweet Mercies’ will be out in October – so watch this space – and thank you so much for coming by!
